“What is padel exactly? ”
The fastest growing sport in the world
More than 30 million people in 110 countries play padel worldwide – and the number is growing every day.
Why is it so popular?
Padel is a dynamic, social racket sport that combines the best elements of tennis and squash while offering a completely unique playing experience. It’s easy to learn, highly addictive, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. No wonder it’s often called “tennis with walls” or “squash under the open sky”.
Court
A padel court is roughly half the size of a tennis court and is enclosed by glass walls and fencing.
The walls are part of the game – just like in squash – and players are encouraged to use them!
Racket
Padel rackets are made of lightweight composite materials and have holes instead of strings. They are easier to handle than regular tennis rackets, making them ideal for beginners. At our venue, you can try different rackets – from beginner to professional level.
Scoring
Padel is a doubles game that uses the same scoring system as tennis. Matches are easy to follow: same points and sets, but without difficult serves. The game always starts with an underhand serve, making it beginner-friendly and fun from the start.
How the game is played
Padel is always played in doubles. The goal is simple: hit the ball in a way that your opponents can’t return it legally. What makes the game unique is the glass walls surrounding the court – the ball can bounce off the walls and still be in play, leading to longer and more exciting rallies.
Scoring is the same as in tennis (15–30–40–game), and serves are underhand after a bounce. The court is smaller, the racket is lighter, and the gameplay is more dynamic – so beginners experience quick success, but advanced players also face serious tactical challenges.
